About Me
I offer a range of services to help clients reach their fitness and wellness goals, including swimming lessons, personal training, nutrition coaching, and PNF stretching. These services can be combined in various ways for a more tailored approach. For instance, clients looking to get in shape can take swim lessons to improve their technique and endurance, then follow up with personal training sessions to correct any muscle imbalances we identify in the pool. I also design personalized nutrition plans to help them recover faster and optimize their performance. In addition to personal training, some clients may choose stretching sessions focused on specific target areas to relieve soreness—whether it’s from daily activities like sitting for long hours at work, or from the intensity of workouts. This holistic approach ensures that each client receives the attention and support they need for a well-rounded experience. I offer swim lessons, personal training, and PNF stretching services at any local pool or gym in New York or New Jersey. For added convenience, I also provide in-home sessions for clients who prefer to swim or work out at home. Whether you’re in NY or NJ, I’m happy to bring the training to you—wherever you feel most comfortable. In my spare time, I'm either golfing or working out.
My Story
When I first entered Johns Hopkins University, I was laser-focused on one goal: becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon. The idea of saving lives in the operating room and helping people recover from serious heart conditions was incredibly appealing. I worked tirelessly through my studies, driven by the vision of becoming a highly skilled surgeon. However, as I neared the end of my undergraduate program, something shifted within me. I realized that while surgery was a vital part of healthcare, I wanted to help people *before* they ever reached the point where surgery was necessary. I wanted to be the doctor who helped people avoid serious health issues through proactive, preventive care.
This realization led me to shift my focus toward preventive medicine and wellness. I began pursuing additional training and certifications, diving into the field of health and fitness. What I found was nothing short of transformative. I discovered a deep satisfaction in helping my clients improve their lives in tangible ways. I watched as they lost weight, regained the ability to fit into clothes they hadn't worn in years, and saw their self-confidence soar. Beyond aesthetics, my clients began to feel stronger, healthier, and more energized. Some experienced a reduction in symptoms from chronic conditions, all through tailored fitness plans and nutritional guidance. My work was efficient, effective, and had a visible, lasting impact on people's lives. I also became certified in PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) stretching, which is a method designed to enhance both flexibility and strength by using both passive and active movements. This technique proved invaluable for improving my clients’ range of motion and overall mobility, further complementing their journey toward optimal health.
As my wellness practice evolved, I naturally transitioned into offering swim lessons. Swimming has always been a passion of mine—I competed nationally in high school and trained with the Long Island Aquatic Club at Eisenhower Park in Garden City, NY. With my background in competitive swimming, it felt like a seamless addition to my growing repertoire of services. Swimming is not just a skill; it’s a full-body workout that enhances cardiovascular health, tones muscles, and improves endurance. For many of my clients, learning to swim became an exciting challenge. But it wasn’t just about mastering the strokes—it was about achieving multiple goals at once. As my clients swam, they shed pounds, toned their bodies, and built strength. In many cases, we incorporated gym workouts in tandem with swim lessons to improve technique and performance in the water, which further elevated their wellness journey. The combination of swimming and strength training allowed them to become healthier and more well-rounded individuals, both inside and out.
Through these diverse and impactful experiences, I’ve found a unique niche in the world of healthcare: one that empowers people to take control of their health before it becomes an emergency. And that, in a way, feels even more rewarding than any surgery I could have performed.
